Our good friend Steven Tye came over and brought his own microphone, which we weren't able to configure his mic 100% so the sound quality might not be exceptional; but its better than the hour we threw away, and Steven is an exceptional guest so the conversation was rewarding.
Our good friend Steven Tye came by to re-record his episode after we did a terrible job of it a couple months ago; and we nearly did it again! He stuck in there like a champ, and here we all are talking about it over sandwiches....
One of Spokane's prodigal comedy sons has come back from Portland to continue, and become more serious about, his career in comedy. We think he's going to have a bright future, check out the start at The Bing on April 11th at 8 for The Inland Northwest Drag Competition.
p.s. Morgan Preston will be at Riddlers in Spokane on 4/15/15
Tony Russel came by and was a great guest, we started this when he didn't know it was happening. You'll simply love his full episode so come back next week. Make sure to check The Inland Empire Drag Competition at The Bing on April 11th at 8:pm
Matts Slater and Dargen stopped by to plug The Ditch Kids show tomorrow night at Jones Radiator at 9:30. Casey and I will be featuring for them so get there early and have a couple drinks because comedy is always better when everybody is loose. Apologies to Mara Baldwin and Cesa Summer for not inviting you on, but we weren't facebook friends at the time.
Matt Dargen and Matt Slater, in lieu of the whole troupe featuring Mara Baldwin, Cesa Summer, Matt Slater, and Matt Dargen. These guys are the whole truth ladies and gentlemen.
In case you weren't aware, our friends Jason Komm and Tom Meisfjord-Staylong are presenting The Silence of The Lambs at The Bing on April 1st at 7:30. Tickets are $10 on Ticketswest or $12 at the door. Again, this is not an elaborate joke; the show is actually happening and you should go watch it.
On April 1st at 7:30 our guests, Tom Meisfjord and Jason Komm, are presenting Silence of the Lambs(Comedy Cut) at The Bing Theater in downtown Spokane. Tickets are available at Ticketswest for $10 and at the door for $12.
Jordan and Josh from the local band Loomer stop by and talk about "notes" and feedback, and how the input of others can shape your own creative output. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled around town to catch their shows, of which there are several coming up. Also, wish Jordan a speedy recovery from getting hit by a car.
Jordan and Josh from the Spokane band Loomer stopped by and had a great episode. They never let it go that the house smelled faintly of cat poo, but it was either that or Josh smelled like a kitchen and had swamp-ass for the whole recording...The right choice was made.
This time around, the script has been flipped as our guest and Casey's co-star in the upcoming Rerun Theater, Jeanette comes by to record and smokes weed, but doesn't get down with whiskey. Additionally, she had much better weed than the guys were able to provide,j but that wasn't the only way she asserted herself in this episode. Covering a wide-range of topics, and spanning nearly an hour, this is finally shaping up to be a pretty decent podcast. Thanks for your support.
Don't forget to check out both Casey and Jeanette as they play George Costanza and Elaine Bennis respectively in Rerun Theater Presents: The Contest, March 12th at 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm at The Big Dipper.
After an hour or so of light sparring with the guys Jeanette was a bit more coherent but not quite as loud as the guys so pardon us if her "levels" are a bit low. But, in a moment that will go down in the early history of the podcast Jeanette was able to recall Josh's mom's name, which she had heard once, much earlier in the night. This remarkable nature of this feat did not go unnoticed; also keep an ear out for poetry slam style finger snapping of approval.
Our friend Michael Evans comes by to drink Jameson with Casey but passes on the White Russian, an AK 47 / White Widow cross. Michael was under the impression he wasn't entertaining during this recording, but we bet you'll beg to differ. Make sure you get your tickets to his performance at The Bing on March 6th!
After recording our podcast with Michael Evans we kept him in the room and debriefed about the recording. Originally, it was just going to Casey and Josh who would debrief about the guest after they had left, but it gets awkward to kick somebody out right as they finally start to get drunk. In that spirit we're going to debrief with all of our guests after the recording and offer those, shorter, recordings a means to whet your whistle. As, always, we're open to notes.
Harry J. Riley is currently Spokane's best working comedian. Whether or not you believe that, it will make him uncomfortable that we wrote that, which is exactly what we wanted. Harry helped us out a ton by taking all of the of the photos you see on the main page and on the sponsor's gallery. We got Mongolian grill, did a podcast, and then went and took all the photos you see on the page; it was a great afternoon.
Harry also has an album out there that you can buy on iTunes at the following link:
Josh is house-sitting his parent's house for the month so the most logical thing he could think to do was invite the comics over to party during the NFC Championships game as the Seahawks took on the Packers; eventually coming out ahead. The guys, "full of inspiration" try and focus on the game, podcasting, and making predictions about who the Hawks will face in two weeks time..
We hope you enjoy this special, drunken episode!
p.s. if you can't handle more than one person talking at a time, this episode won't be for you.
Well, here it is...the first episode of our new podcast, "Weed and Whiskey." The publishing of which is the beginning of our limited influence on popular culture. In this podcast we're going to be drinking new whiskies and smoking different strains of marijuana in an effort to show you, the listener, how these kinds of weeds & whiskies can influence your evening. We'll talk about how we like the varieties we try, but this isn't not strictly a review show. We hope you enjoy our conversations and our recommendations; and we look forward to hearing from you.
